American Way: Forget the tears and the tan. Barack Obama underestimates John Boehner at his peril – Telegraph Blogs
This article shows the contrast between Barack Obama and John Boehner, but the differences are even greater than what this covers. John Boehner cares about what people want. He knows what it is like to work your way up from the bottom. He knows the value of "an honest days pay for an honest days work". He's been there, done that.
Barack Obama has had someone sponsering and mentoring him from childhood. He has never really had to work hard. He has never had to get a job in a fast food joint, or work as a salesperson on a commission. He's always had someone to hold his hand.
John Boehner understands how much more valuable anything is if you work for it. As a child from a big family he understands the value of the hand me down. As much as you hate being the one handed down to, when you have to buy it yourself, you appreciate the cost, and value it that much more.
Barack Obama was raised as a single child by his grandparents mostly. While he had other siblings, he spent little time with them. While he may appreciate family, he doesn't really understand the give and take in a big family.
John Boehner knows how to share, whether it is himself, or what he has. Obama feels no real necessity to give of himself, what you see is what you get. John Boehner has passion. Obama is passionless. Boehner learned to forgive because that is part of being a family. Forgiveness is just a theory to Barack Obama.
The real difference in how they lead will be in their depth.
