Take Sarah Palin and Barack Obama, for instance. The vitriol that some Democrats spew about Sarah Palin goes beyond what has ever been thrown at any person in the history of our country. I doubt that even Benedict Arnold was hated as much as she is. As for the reasons, they are hard to understand. You would think that a woman who chose to raise a child who was disabled would be appreciated, but instead she is mocked, her child is mocked, and she is called dumb.
I would think that at the very least the Kennedy's, who had their own problems with a disabled sister, would at least appreciate the fact that she loves her child, as much as they loved their sister, and aunt. The Kennedy's invested a lot in people with disabilities, both in the Special Olympics, special education, and the many other opportunities that were not available in the early twentieth century.
Then you have Barack Obama. He is not hated, his policies are. But Democrats try to turn that hatred of his policies into an actual hatred of the man. Perhaps they are simply trying to justify their hatred of Sarah Palin. Republicans are called racists, and told that their hatred of Obama's policies, are just make-believe. That if Bush did the same thing, that they would be perfectly happy. I can't speak for everyone, but I speak for a lot of people who were just as unhappy with Bush and his policies, as we are with Barack Obama.
