It's good to see someone who is willing to stand up to environmentalist and the federal government and using some common sense. The New Mexico has decided that her state is what counts and what is best for the people is just as important as the environment itself. When you are willing to look at issues of the environment objectively, you have to take everything into account.
Mrs. Martinez was smart to act so quickly, but we will see how that goes over with the federal government. I am afraid that the next step will be the EPA deciding that they will take over the same way they are trying to do in Texas. Hopefully she and the rest of New Mexico will be able to stand up the the bulling that this administration is engaged in. Hopefully the Congress will be able to put the brakes on the EPA. Hopefully some decent judges will realize that the Constitution really did not give all these broad powers to the Executive Branch.
