Tim Pawlenty: Right For 2012?

Official photo of Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-MN).Image via WikipediaTim Pawlenty has raised taxes as governor, and yet says that he is against raising the debt ceiling, opposes cap and trade, and wants to repeal Obamacare. He says he would focus on cost containment in healthcare.

Is he qualified? Yes! Is he inspirational? No.  Is he right on the issues? Somewhat! Can he really appeal to people who want Sarah Palin? Maybe, if she doesn’t run.

He won’t bring out near as many people as Palin would. I really think that he would  make a good vice president, but I don’t believe he can win the nomination this time.

I think that he would be better than Huckabee. He might even come out even with Romney. He says a lot of the right things, but he needs to be seasoned. He lacks the excitement factor.

He would not inspire people the way that Sarah Palin does.  I think that he is a very good man, but am not sure that he is the right person for the time. He seems almost like a wall flower compared to Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, Chris Christie, or even Allen West

He is much  more believable that Huckabee, less boring than Daniels, less snobbish that Gingrich. Not as grating as some, but lacking something. Can he withstand the media?

I personally think that he would be better as Vice President this time. Maybe with Sarah Palin at the top of the ticket. But then again if the choice came down to Tim Pawlenty or Huckabee, I would choose Pawlenty. The same thing with either Gingrich or Romney.

Watch his five part speech to the National Press Club and judge for yourself.
